I spent this last weekend in Albuquerque at a Regional Luncheon for MOMS Club. We were celebrating the 25Th Anniversary of MOMS Club!
I started the weekend with a coordinator dinner for all the International volunteers at El Pinto Restaurant. It was a wonderful dinner on the patio (I set up the dinner location). After going back to the Embassy Suites I helped with some last minute details and had a quick meeting. Saturday morning I woke up late so I went down to the banquet room with my dress on and my hair in rollers...it was a funny sight. After a quick set up I grabbed breakfast and hurried to my room to finish my hair. My hair was not cooperating which put me behind on time so I was literally running in my heals back down the the banquet room for last minute pictures before the luncheon started. I helped recruit potential moms to volunteer at an International level during the beginning of the luncheon. After a meet and greet game we listened to three great speakers that included Mary James the founder of MOMS Club, a wonderful song and dance from one of the Colorado chapters, we watched several slide shows, and we gave away tons of door prizes. Everything went wonderful and I had so much fun!! It was a great weekend for me to get away. But I did miss the boys and Jason very much...it was nice to come home and get lots of hugs and kisses last night.
For those of you that don't know I am currently the President of my local MOMS Club chapter as well as the State Coordinator for Nevada and Arizona. MOMS Club is an International group to support moms that stay at home either full time or part time. Our slogan is MOMS Offering MOMS Support!! I have been a member of MOMS Club for three years and have volunteered for International MOMS Club for 10months. In that short time I have realized what a wonderful group MOMS Club is, without it I don't think I would have my sanity. We not only support stay at home moms by offering lots of activities to go to with your children throughout the month there is also always an ear to listen, someone to comfort you, and a friend waiting to be met. We also do at least one service project every year to help the children and moms in the community. If you stay at home either part time or full time I highly suggest looking into joining your local MOMS Club and if there is not a MOMS Club in your area I would suggest starting one because I know you are not the only stay at home mom in your area that needs support. You can find your local MOMS Club by emailing momsclub@aol.com plus you can get more info about MOMS Club by visiting www.momsclub.org! What are you waiting for??
Jason had the boys all weekend and they seemed to have a great time with dad. I liked to give a big thanks to Jason for supporting me with my roles in MOMS Club and understanding how important MOMS Club is to me. I'd also like to thank him for letting me attend this luncheon as well as all of the other luncheons I have attended for MOMS Club!
