The kids and I went with MOMS Club on a tour of the Kirtland Post Office. The Post Master, Jesse, was very friendly and the kids really enjoyed listening to him. First the kids got to mail a letter, then we went in the back room to see where it went. Once we found out letter in the bin we headed over to stamp it and put it in the correct box headed for out of town. Ryan was the lucky one that got picked to stamp the letter...he was thrilled. Then we went to the very back room where we got to ride on the elevators that they use to get the mail off of the big trucks. Last we saw where each delivery person sorts their mail for their route (he showed us my Aunt Bealinda's station for sorting!) and we saw the back side of the PO boxes.
Even with the boys being younger I really think they learned a lot about mailing letters and they enjoyed the tour. It was simple but fun for everyone!!
